Southampton
Southampton's very own Student Scout and Guide Organisation!
Do you want to learn new skills working with young people and make lifelong friends? If so, the Southampton Student Scout and Guide Organisation (Southampton SSAGO) is for you!
We are a University of Southampton society, mainly interested in volunteering in the local Scouting and Guiding community.
However, even if you’re not involved, we welcome anyone who is interested in Scouting and Guiding associated activities – from camping to bake-offs, campfires to film nights, pub crawls to hiking, and much more!
If you want to work towards your Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, the world's leading youth achievement award, recognised in over 144 nations, then we are the group to help you achieve it.
If this sounds of interest to you and you want to find out more, register here.
Our mascots are Phil Dolphin, Phillipa Dolphin and the No. 10 Bin!
We are a social club at the University of Southampton- made up of all sorts of people, but you don't have to actually be involved with Scouting or Guiding to join us! We welcome anyone who is interested in Scouts and Guides. From Camping to Biscuit Decoration Evenings, Campfires to Film Nights, Pub Crawls to Go Karting, we generally do enough activities that one will be perfect for you!
Here is our Southampton SSAGO YouTube Channel!
We currently have 46 active members.
Our current chair is Josie Anderson.
Phil: Is a dolphin. Is not stealable. Much old. Now retired. Give him hugs. Baas I guess.
Phillipa: Is a dolphin. Is not stealable. Quite old. Now retired. Give her hugs. Makes a weird noise. Maybe pregnant? Wears a flower.
The Number 10 Bin: Is not a dolphin. Is not stealable. Relatively new. Don't give it hugs. Makes a weird smell. Not pregnant. May contain recycling.
Phrankie: Is not a dolphin. Is stealable. Very new! It's a baby! Give him hugs. Makes no noise. If you steal him, I will be so sad so pls don't as he's a special boy.
